What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a non-invasive, gentle, yet deeply profound form of bodywork and energy healing. It has its roots in Osteopathy.

The treatment is focused on supporting the health of the whole being. It gives support and attention to the nervous system in quieting it down and helping it to settle.

When the nervous system is continually overwhelmed, tension is created in the body and this can lead to chronic conditions.

BCST also works directly in supporting the body’s ability to shift into self-repair mode, particularly through releasing excess stress in the system. This release creates space for the health to arise.

Practitioners use an educated, gentle, non-invasive touch to engage with the expressions of health in the system.

The biodynamic approach strengthens the whole body - physical, emotional and mental. It creates a safe environment and when the brain feels safe it will turn down the pain volume.

What does a session look like?

Generally, your session will begin by sitting and talking with me about any of your health concerns. Together we will discuss your health history and what you would like to get out of the session.

During the session, you will be fully clothed lying on a therapy table in a supported and comfortable way. It is important that you feel comfortable and safe at all times. I may ask you from time to time what you are experiencing, and will help you to stay present in your body.

Usually I can start with a gentle touch at your feet or your spine. Later I can go to any area of the body that needs to be worked with, using a light contact that feels best for you.

During the session

- you may relax very deeply

- you enter a silent meditation-like state

- enjoy a pleasant sense of warmth

  softening, widening or floating

- your area of concern feels better

- your pain volume reduces

At the end of the session, you may feel relaxed, but also energized and feel more comfortable in your body.

You may be surprised to feel a new sense of peace and ease as you leave.
